CONNECTING HEAVENLY WEALTH - Bishop David Oyedepo

From Revelation 21:10, “And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.”
Heaven is a place of unfathomable wealth. It is a place of unthinkable prosperity. That is why we are told that the foundation of the walls was laid with the most precious stones and even the walls themselves were made of choice precious stones. Then the streets were paved with gold.
So, how does it look like in Heaven? It is a place of unusual splendour, a place of unimaginable wealth. Heaven is a place of supernatural dimensions of wealth.

I was walking on the streets of Oral Roberts University someday in August 1987. And looking at what God has done there, I knew that God is in command of wealth. Then after one of those meetings, as the worship session ended, the Lord spoke to me clearly, “My son, get down home and make my people rich.” That is why I know that I am a messenger of God’s kind of prosperity and I am going to show you how to connect this dimension of wealth.

As was mentioned earlier, you and I were in earthly places before Jesus came. And as long as you are on this earth you are a candidate for the poverty that indwells the earth. For it is written, “…..the poor shall never cease out of the land….” (Deut. 15:11). So this earth is the dwelling place of the poor. But when Jesus came, He said, “This is not where you belong originally, come with Me to your actual place. “Then He took you from the earthly places and sat you down in the heavenly places where poverty cannot come.

What is obtainable in Heaven? The Bible describes it as pleasures forever more not pressures. Meaning that God has no plan for pressures for you rather He has concluded all arrangements for you to enter into unending pleasure.

God’s word says in 2 Corinthians 8:9, “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”
That is God’s programme. Wealth is part and parcel of redemption. Jesus came down here, suffered lack that we through His poverty might be made rich. That lack we are talking about is of course in comparison to His heavenly glory, because of the dimension of wealth. The dimension of wealth Jesus operated even while on earth is still a great deal more than what some Christians may ever live to have.

Font you know that He never begged for money from anyone all through His earthly ministry – not even once? When they were going to crucify Him, they could not distinguish between Him and His disciples, because they were all gorgeously arrayed.

He always moved about in a convoy – He had a ship and other little ships with Him. When He needed to spend time alone with His disciples, it was the upper room that was prepared for Him. He had everything, yet the Bible says it was poverty compared to His riches in glory. As soon as He started ministry, He had a treasurer who was even a thief, yet there was no lack. That is a dimension of wealth that no earthly circumstance can have a hold on. That is where God is bringing you.
You are now in Heavenly places, why must you be a victim of earthly sufferings?

YOU NEED KNOWLEDGE
There is a prophetic parable narrated in Isaiah 5:1-13. We are told that the Lord God planted a vineyard on a most fruitful hill, He fenced it, took care of it and planted in it the choicest vine. Then He waited for it to bring forth fruits and instead of good fruits it brought forth negative fruits. And in exasperation He asked:

“And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?”
- Isaiah 5:3-4

That’s redemption in a picture, just as God planted the vineyard, cleared it for all debris, planted the choicest vine in it and fenced it to ward of trespassers, redeption covers your soul, your body, your social life, etc That is, your soul is saved, your body is free from sickness, you’re protected and provided for. It’s all in one package (Psalm 103:1-5). Even though you are planted on a most fruitful hill, you still need a working knowledge of the truth to enjoy that comprehensive redemption package.

“Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.”- Isaiah 5:13

The destiny of His people is most colourful, their heritage is most enviable, but they’ve gone into captivity because they lack knowledge. That is the case with many believers today. They do not understand God’s provision for their enrichment. But by strength shall no man prevail.

Human effort can provide some dimension of wealth, but true explosive wealth cannot be accessed by human effort. Look at Solomon for instance, God blessed him with a dimension of wealth that could only be described as Heavenly. Yet Jesus said he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than Solomon.
So, potentially you are to command great dimensions of wealth than even Solomon. Yet the potentials you carry are not enough, you have to make a conscious discovery and begin to walk in the consciousness of that discovery. You won’t carry your redemptive potentials to the grave.

WHY WILL GOD PROSPER YOU?
Three reasons stand out clearly as the reason God has programmed to prosper you:

• He wants you to enjoy living (I Tim 6:17)
• Your prosperity is a tool for the accomplishment of the Great Commission (Haggai 2:6-8)
• Wealth is a major sickle in bringing in the endtime harvest (Zech. 8:16-23).

THE ALL-TIME ACCESS
There is no amount of human effort that can attain to the order of wealth we are talking about. It takes supernatural empowerment to walk in this dimension of heavenly wealth. And it is walking in the covenant that empowers you for heavenly wealth.

“But thou shall remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”
- Deuteronomy 8:18

God blesses people to make them a blessing. Until you are prepared to be a blessing, you are not a candidate for blessings. Giving is no gimmicks, it is covenant walk. And when you’re walking in that covenant, you’re committing God to bless you. This is how to enjoy heavenly wealth. This is your time!
